We rarely visit zoos. Much less sleep at them.
But in the case of Sydney's Taronga Zoo, we're willing to make an exception.
First of all, getting there is one of the most memorable travel experiences in the world. You take a 12-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay across Sydney Harbour, passing the spectacular Opera House en route.

Once-in-a-lifetime Australia fare sale.
If you've wanted to go to Australia - and who hasn't - now may be the best time. Virgin Australia entered the market with high season fares that are about half what they were last year. And in order to stay competitive, United and Delta have matched them.
You can travel roundtrip from LAX to Sydney for $649 to $655, and that includes taxes. The fare is valid from April 12, 2009 through mid December. Since their seasons are opposite ours, that means that you can visit from their fall right up to the beginning of summer.
